Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode District Council of the National Development Front (NDF) wants the Centre to take follow-up measures on the Rajinder Sachar Committee recommendations.

In a statement here on Tuesday, the NDF urged the Centre to ensure that the educational-social-economic privileges entitled to the Backward-Dalit sections in the community are provided to them as per the committee recommendations through concerted measures.

The recommendations of the Sachar Committee ought not to remain on paper, and in announcements and statements only, it was pointed out.

It was also up to the backward sections to react against political parties that created hurdles in providing the privileges that were due to them, he said.
