Rupee steady

MUMBAI: The rupee continued its narrow movement on Tuesday and closed steady against the U.S. currency on lack of any major activity amid expectation of intervention of the central bank at higher levels.

In quiet trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic unit resumed better at 44.07/09 a dollar from Monday's close of 44.1050/1100 a dollar. During the day, the rupee touched a high of 44.06 a dollar on exporters dollar sales and sustained foreign funds inflows in equity markets. — PTI
