HYDERABAD: The Cauvery Award has its echo in the State. The Government on Tuesday undertook an exercise to identify the line of arguments to be placed by the State before the Krishna Water Tribunal.

Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah held a high-level meeting, asking officials to bear in mind the observation made by the Cauvery Tribunal that some water of the river must be reserved for `inevitable escape' into the sea.

Arguments based on this observation, would strengthen the State's case.
