HYDERABAD: Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has admitted that it will take at least a year for the Government to repatriate all the non-local police personnel working in the city in violation of G.O. 610.

"It is not possible to immediately send the officers and constables back to their own districts. It will lead to administrative problems," he said, replying to a question here on Tuesday.

"Training for the selected police constables and others will be completed in the next six months. Once the new recruits report for duty, the Government will repatriate the non-local police personnel one by one," he explained at a press conference.

Repatriation of the officers and staff will not solve the problem completely, he said. "The Government has to protect seniority of the officers and others. There will be need to create supernumerary posts to justify their transfers," Mr. Jana Reddy added.

The Government, in tune with G.O. 610, has decided to repatriate 3,000 constables and 100 inspectors and SIs working in the Hyderabad City Commissionerate. It had already identified the non-local police personnel, he added.

Government committed

The Minister said the Government was committed to implementation of G.O. 610. There will be no scope for further complaints. He admitted that repatriation orders issued earlier in case of certain officers could not be implemented due to administrative problems.
