ANANTAPUR: Two CPI(M) corporators ended the 24-hour fast they had taken up with four party activists on Monday in protest against the alleged neglect of problems in their divisions. District secretary of the party G. Obulakonda Reddy said neglect of problem in the 49th and 40th divisions represented by K. Susheela and P. Prasuna, respectively, had also been affecting residents of other divisions. He explained that denial of safe drinking water to Arunodaya Colony and HLC Colony extension had resulted in the denial of the same to 10 other divisions.To provide safe water to the people of two colonies CPI(M) corporator had got sanctioned Rs. 5 lakhs from ACDP funds for laying of pipeline from Tadakaleru. But, the work had been kept pending by the ruling body. He alleged that the officials of the corporation and the ruling body had kept pending several works sanctioned to the two divisions represented by the CPI (M) corporators.
