JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government on Tuesday abolished the landing fee charged from private airlines for use of the 17 airstrips and helipads functioning in the State. The decision is aimed at promoting tourism through chartered flights and facilitate the arrival of groups of tourists. An official circular issued here specified the guidelines for District Collectors to allow the landing of aircraft and helicopters and make arrangements for their parking and other facilities. The private airlines are now required to submit application for the use of airstrip to the Collector one week in advance. The Collectors will only charge the "actual expenditure'' on security arrangements, ambulance and fire brigades, etc., from the private airlines.
