Aggrieved over denial of party ticket

BHUBANESWAR: In a bizarre incident, a Biju Janata Dal worker attempted to commit self-immolation near an election meeting of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Ganeshwarpur village of Puri district on Tuesday. The incident took place at around 1 p.m. when Saraswati Nayak, a resident of nearby Mahakud village, reached near the meeting to hand over a petition to the Chief Minister, who was on the dais along with other leaders of his party.
