Woman found dead inside sump

CHENNAI : A 24-year-old woman was found dead near her residence in the Fort police station limits on Monday. Police said that the victim identified as Soujanya lived in the Military Establishment Services Inspection bungalow area along with her parents.

It is reported that she went out of her house at around 4 a.m. on Monday to draw drinking water.

She was later found dead inside the six-foot-high sump.

The body was sent for post-mortem to the Government Hospital.

Investigations are on, said DCP (Flower Bazaar) S. Choodeswaran.
