CHENNAI: Madras Management Association (MMA) will organise its annual convention on `Global Leadership India Can Do It' on February 16 and 17 at the Le Royal Meridien. President C.K. Ranganathan said the convention, MMA's flagship event, has a theme that has contemporary relevance with Indian companies tasting success abroad. Vice president S. Gopal told media persons on Tuesday that the discussions would look at the various leading industries, global industrial standards and what needed to be done to attain global leadership position. The convention will have nine sessions including, health care and pharma, telecom, auto/components, education, IT/ITES and entertainment/media. Chairman of National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council V. Krishnamurthy and managing director of Ashok Leyland R. Seshasayee will address nearly 800 delegates at the inaugural session. Other speakers include Apollo Hospitals managing director Preetha Reddy, executive director of Bharti Airtel N. Arjun, chief operating officer of Ashok Leyland Vinod K. Dasari, director of IIT-M M.S. Ananth, chief operating officer of Infosys Technologies Kris S. Gopalakrishnan and managing director of The Hindu N. Murali.
Awards
At the valedictory session, winners of the 11th MMA competition for `Tomorrow's Manager', `Best Young Manager' and `Effective Business Communication' will be honoured. QuestNet India is sponsoring the convention. Executive director S. Lakshmanan said the MMA has opened its first local chapter at Salem recently.
