It was after a gap of about five years that the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) organised an adalat for its consumers on February 5. The complaints raised at the adalat were mostly about arrears in bills, faulty meters and problems arising out of transfer of ownership of property. Some cases that related to problems that were pending for more than twenty years. While many of these cases were settled, many others were not. KWA official who was present at the adalat was heard wondering aloud why people waited all this long to get their problems redressed.
