On the guard

A.K. Antony in the company of security guards. It was something unusual for a man known for his disinclination towards the paraphernalia of power.

On Sunday, the Defence Minister arrived in town to inaugurate the formation meeting of a feeder organisation of the Congress.

He was provided a security cordon by six guards. The starched-Khadi-clad Congress leader stood in stark contrast to the dark blue of the security personnel who encircled him as he moved to the venue.

While two of them took their position on the stage, two others kept a close watch on the audience.
