BBMP officials told to recover dues

Power, water supply to shops of defaulters to be disconnected


  • Many shopkeepers have not paid service tax to the BBMP
  • Rs. 290 crore mobilised as property tax till the end of January

    BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), which has embarked on a revenue mobilisation drive, will disconnect the power and water lines of shops in various BBMP market complexes whose owners have defaulted on tax payment. BBMP Commissioner K. Jairaj, who held a review meeting on Tuesday, directed officials to immediately recover dues from shopkeepers and traders doing business in various markets. The Commissioner took serious exception to the issue of pending payments from shopkeepers.
