`Snatching' story turns out to be fake
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A medical shop cashier's attempt to steal Rs. 9,000 by spinning a story boomeranged with the alert police picking holes in his version at Rajendranagar on Tuesday. The accused cashier Matin and his associate Nazir, who helped him `enact' the snatching drama, were arrested and remanded in judicial custody. Matin was working with Ganesh Medicals at Hyderguda. Around 2.30 p.m., he rang up the Rajendranagar police saying two motorcycle-borne men snatched away his cash bag containing Rs. 9,000 while he was travelling on his bike on Rajendranagar road.
Matin let the cat out of the bag when the police grilled him.
