NALGONDA: Authorities of Yadagirigutta temple, the abode of Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy, are making elaborate arrangements for the annual brahmotsavam to be held from February 18 to 28. While the all-important `yedurkolu' will be held on February 24, the celestial wedding will be performed the next day, temple Executive Officer S. Kondal Rao told reporters on Wednesday. Well decorated `Dasaavataraas', ornamental arch gates, illumination of the hillock, free prasadam, cultural shows that include a play by the Surabhi troupe and songs by Keeravani and party will be the highlights, Mr. Rao said. "For the first time in the temple, we are introducing the concept of `Dasaavataras' akin to that of other famous temples in the State," he said. adding that Udayagiri Ananthacharylu of Nellore was being called for the purpose.
Publicity
To give wide publicity for the celebrations, the EO has sent teams to paste wall posters at important places in Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Chattisgarh. "This time, the event will be innovative, decorative and creative," Mr. Rao said adding that Rs.24 lakhs had been earmarked for the arrangements.
