Institute for AAI officials opened

CHENNAI:
Airports Authority of India Chairman K. Ramalingam inaugurated an institute for the officers of Airport Authority of India at Meenambakkam here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the function, Mr. Ramalingam said that with the increase in the number of air passengers, the workload for AAI employees had gone up considerably. They were facing a great deal of stress. The institute would provide them relaxation facility.
He appealed to the AAI and the Airport Director to work in co-ordination with each other.
A similar institute was created in New Delhi, which had become popular with the employees.
A gymnasium and a health club too should be created at the Chennai institute.
P. Seth, Member, Operations, AAI, released a half-yearly journal, `Dakshin Tharang.'
He wanted the facility to be used to the optimum.
K. Ramalingam, Regional Executive Director, Southern Region, said the new building was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.06 crore.
The institute would help the employees, as it was close to the residence of officials. Otherwise, the officials had to travel to the city to visit clubs.
