PEOPLE'S PARTICIPATION: Villagers sporting pink shawls gather around TRS leader J. Jacharaiah during his visit to Reddypalem in Warangal district on Wednesday.
WARDHANNAPET (WARANGAL DT): The Palle Baata programme undertaken by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party not only helped reach out to the people in remote corners but make a dent into the areas held strongly by the TDP. TRS senior leader Jannu Jacharaiah toured Nandanam, Bandauthapuram, Reddypalem, Lingamorigudem, Inavolu and other villages as part of the programme on Wednesday. There was an impressive turnout for the street corner meetings. Hoisting of party flag, padayatra, street corner meetings formed part of the programme. Mr Jacharaiah drew the attention of the villagers on the need for creating a separate Telangana and how the Congress exploited the TRS. "After all, we believed what the Congress leaders said and joined them in last elections. They exploited us and after the elections, the same leaders refused to speak in favour of Telangana," he maintained. All along the route, pink flags and people sporting the TRS turbans and shawls, pink coloured tilakam were seen. A caravan of vehicles with TRS flags passing through the narrow roads in countryside presented an impressive scene. Speaking to The Hindu , Mr Jacharaiah said there was tremendous response to the party and people in large numbers were willing to support it. "Our effort is to mobilise public support to the cause. We will strive to take the party close to people and make our presence felt in every remote corner," he said.
