Human chain

Scores of women formed a human chain, as part of the agitation organised by the Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha, and held up traffic on the Dondaparthy Main Road on Wednesday. The women raised slogans denouncing the steep hike in the prices of essential commodities. Later, BJMM State president T. Vijayalakshmi and State general secretary K. Rajakumari addressed a press conference.

IETE council meet

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) will conduct its third council meeting from Friday. A zonal seminar will be a part of the programme.

B. Ed classes

The Andhra University Vice-Chancellor has ordered the principals of affiliated colleges of education to commence B.Ed classes for 2006-07 on Feb.19, said a press release.

Seminar

A seminar on morality and social policy - "A philosophical analysis of liberty, equality and justice" -- sponsored by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi, was organised by the department of philosophy and religious studies of Andhra University.

District and Sessions Judge R. Kanth Rao, AP State Human Rights Commission secretary S. Chellappa and AU College of Arts and Commerce principal J.V. Prabhakara Rao participated.
