Meat sale banned on February 16

The Karnataka Meat and Poultry Sales Corporation has banned slaughter and sale of animals on February 16 on account of Maha Shivaratri. Slaughter of animals is allowed only up to 8 a.m. on February 15, which could be resumed from 5 a.m. on February 17, said an official release.

Pranayama camp

Sri Vinayaka Mitra Mandali and Rotary Club of Bangalore Garden City have organised a free pranayama and meditation camp on Saturdays and Sundays beginning February 11 and ending February 24 by Raghavendra Shenoy, Secretary and Chief Instructor of Yoga, Rashtrotthana Shareerika Shikshana Kendra. The camp will be held at Sri Jayarama Seva Mandali, 1st Main, Jayanagar VIII Block, at 6.30 p.m. For details, call 9448225060.

Shibir open for all today

Responding to enthusiastic response from Bangaloreans to its Pranayam and Dhyan Shibir being conducted by Sri Sri Ravishankar since February 5, the Art of Living (AoL) Foundation has decided to make the Shibir open to all on Thursday, the last day. The entry will be free for the morning (6 a.m.) and evening (6.30 p.m.) batches, said a release from AoL.

Sarige Adalat

The Transport Department will hold a Sarige Adalat at the office of the Regional Transport Officer, Bangalore South, at BMP Shopping Complex, Jayanagar IV Block at 3 p.m. on Monday. Senior officers of the department would be present at the adalat to redress grievances of the public, said an official release.
