THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A text book series that will help students use language meaningfully in various contexts was launched by Orient Longman in the city on Thursday. Titled `Sangam Malayala Pathavali,' the textbook series is meant for students from Kindergarten to class VIII. The series, claimed to have been prepared on the basis of modern day concepts of acquiring language skills, is designed to help students learn language by engaging themselves in different communication contexts. Different aspects of words and analysis of sentences are also included to start learning about the language. According to the publisher `Sangam Malayala Pathavali' is the first `constructivist' textbook series in a regional language and is the result of a year-long research and workshops.
