Puducherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy said that one candidate each from the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Communist Party of India (CPI) would be inducted soon as nominated legislators of Puducherry Assembly. He told a meeting after receiving the first copy of Tamil newspaper Jana Sakthi, released by Tamil Nadu State CPI committee secretary and Editor of the newspaper D. Pandian, that he would meet the Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi shortly regarding this, after consulting the PCC president P.Shanmugham. The Chief Minister requested two parties to furnish the names of their candidates. Mr. Rangasamy said that the decision to induct the nominated members was in keeping with promise he had given before the Assembly polls in May last year. A statue of Jeevanandham, a socialist leader and founder of Jana Sakthi would be installed on Valudavoor Salai here soon. He urged the Union Communications and IT Minister to release a commemorative postal stamp in memory of the veteran CPI leader and former Health Minister V. Subbiah. Releasing the newspaper, Mr. Pandian said that the newspaper would focus largely on issues of people and would provide more space for events of Puducherry and Karaikal. Members of Parliament V. Narayanasamy and M. Ramadoss and Tenkasi MP M. Appathurai, member of the newspaper's editorial Board A.M. Gopu, PCC general secretary A. Gandhiraj, CPI Secretary N. Kalainathan, its legislator R.
