MUMBAI: Tata Crucible, the campus quiz competition, will kick off its third edition in a new and exciting format with the regional rounds commencing in Chennai on February 9. The new edition of the Inter collegiate Business Quiz, which is focused on students of engineering colleges, business schools and other collegiate students, will have `Pyramid Quizzing,' a new format introduced for the first time in Indian quizzing history.

In other regions, `Tata Crucible — The Campus Quiz 2007' will be held in New Delhi (February 10), Pune (February 16), Mumbai (February 17), Ahmedabad (February 18), Kolkata (February (20), Hyderabad (February 22) and Bangalore (February 25). Eight winning teams from the regional rounds will qualify for the national finals, which are to be held in Mumbai on March 5.

The Hindu is the official media partner for the southern rounds of the competition and the Tata companies associated with the 2007 Campus quiz are Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Teleservices, Tata Asset Management, Trend and Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces. CNBC TV-18 is the TV partner for the quiz. The theme of the quiz is `Speed of Thought — Clash of the fastest minds' with the `Pyramid Quizzing' participation structure. New features in the round will include two-stage fights, with the scores of participating teams being reset to zero after clearing the first level.

In effect, the second stage will be a completely new quiz for the qualifiers of the first level, with no carryover benefits from the previous level.

The eventual national winner would be richer by Rs. 2.60 lakh, while the total value of prizes at stake exceeds Rs. 15 lakh.
