NOT ACCEPTABLE: A large number of college students boycotted their classes and took out a rally against the award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal in Hassan on Thursday.
HASSAN: Hundreds of students from N.D.R.K, Government Polytechnic and Government I.T.I On Thursday abstained from their classes and took out a protest rally in Hassan. With the participation of more number of students in the agitation against the Cauvery tribunal award, it gained momentum. The procession passed through main roads in Hassan. Traffic was disrupted at N.R Circle and at Hemavathi Circle for over half an hour. Okkaligara Yuva Vedike activists also took out a protest rally. Their procession started from Eswar temple in Kuvempu Nagar and ended at the Deputy Commissioner's Office. S.H. Vasudeva Gowda led the procession. President of the Hassan Zilla Dr Rajkumar Abhimanigala Sangha Ballu Gopal through a press release here on Thursday stated that the sangha would actively participate in the proposed Karnataka Bandh called on February 12 and would conduct the bandh peacefully.
