VIZIANAGARAM: The TDP town committee on Thursday took out a rally from the fort to the Collectorate seeking uniform widening of the main road to 60 feet, compensation for the land acquired besides demolished structures from R&B and scrapping of the G.O. No. 345. Addressing a gathering at the Clock Tower, party district convenor Y. Ramana Murty and floor leader in the municipal council V.S. Prasad said that the second stage of road-widening up to 80 feet instead of 60 feet was taken up mainly with political motive. Dr. Prasad said though dissent note was issued at the council meeting, it was ignored by the ruling party. A resolution was passed to widen the road to 80 feet between the Clock Tower and SBI main branch. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Collector.
