SCR probe panel to submit report soon

Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM: The three-member technical committee headed by South Central Railway's (SCR) Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer R.K. Sharma to probe into the cause for frequent de-linking of the engine from the coaches in 2727 Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad Godavari Express has completed its inquiry and is likely to submit its report to the SCR General Manager in a day or two.

The probe, as ordered by Union Minister of State for Railways R. Velu, following sudden disengagement of the coaches and the locomotive of the running train on Friday and Saturday last in Visakhapatnam and Duvvada stations respectively, would fix responsibility on officials and other staff and lists out reasons as it involved newly introduced centre buffer coupling (CBC) to join the coaches and the engine.

Sources said, the panelwill also recommend steps to be taken to prevent recurrence.
