Raji breaks 100m hurdles record

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: C.T. Raji of SNC, Chempazanthy erased the oldest record in the history of Kerala University on the final day of the Kerala University inter-collegiate athletic meet at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium on Thursday. Raji won the 100m hurdles in 15.3 seconds breaking K.M. Selin's (Alphonsa College, Pala) long-standing mark (15.4s) set in 1973.

Apart from Raji's record two more records were set on the final day. The record breakers were Ambu Sugathan (Mar Ivanios) in men's shot put and Aruna Raj (LNCPE) in women's high jump.

Fathima Matha National College won the overall title in the men's section with 59 points while SNC, Kollam took the top honours in the women's section with 54 points.
