"Cabinet reshuffle at appropriate time"
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
There will be changes in the State Cabinet at an appropriate time, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said on Thursday. He was responding to a question.
On the criticism surrounding the appointment of an IPS officer to a sensitive post in the State, he said this was done after enquiries with the Union Government. The officer had also received commendations and cash prizes from the previous government and was also recommended for the President's Medal.
On DMDK leader Vijayakant's charge that the ruling party had intimidated candidates of his party, the Chief Minister said some people had based their existence on uttering lies.
On the disqualification of some candidates, he said anyone could verify the facts with the returning officers and find out the reasons.
