Laxman in lead

VISAKHAPATNAM: IM R.R. Laxman of Tamil Nadu emerged the sole leader at the end of the sixth round in the MAYTAS all-India FIDE open rating tournament here on Thursday.

Laxman beat joint overnight leader K. Vijay Kanth of AP to lead with six points.

Ram S. Krishnan of BSNL is in the second place with 5.5 points. Vijay Kanth, I. Purushothaman, M. Srinivasa Rao, Vinoth Kumar, J. Malleswara Rao, Meher Chinna Reddy and Linda Rangarajan are in the third place with 5 points each. — Special Correspondent
