KANNUR: District Panchayat member Sathyan Vandichal of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and his supporters will rejoin the Congress at a merger function here on February 10 The function will be attended by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala. Mr. Vandichal said that he would resign as district panchayat member representing the Edakkad division. He said that he and his supporters decided to go back to the parent party in protest against NCP State president K. Muraleedharan using the breakaway party for his personal interests. Senior party leader K. Karunakaran was just a mute witness to the developments in the party, he said.
