JAIPUR: The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board will organise a two-day workshop here beginning February 22 to deliberate on conservation of the ozone layer and evolve a strategy to control the factors responsible for damage to the protective cover on Earth. Board Chairman Ashok Jain said here on Thursday that the workshop would be held in collaboration with the Ozone Cell of the Union Forest and Environment Ministry. Experts participating in eight sessions of the workshop will highlight the impact of radiation crossing ozone layer as a result of damage caused by pollution. Mr. Jain said the workshop would generate awareness about the use of ozone-friendly materials in place of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and the responsibility of citizens to stay away from products creating environmental pollution. He said the experts would spell out the steps to phase out technologies harmful to the ozone layer. Among others, Ozone Cell's Director A. Doraiswami and Project Coordinator R. Srinivas and representatives of industries and pollution control organisations of Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will take part in the workshop.
