CHANDIGARH: A new computer centre has been set up by Dell India at the Institute for the Care of Blind here. Set up with funds from the Dell Foundation, the centre is equipped with 14 computers for use by visually impaired children to aid their education and make a difference to their lives. It was inaugurated by the Punjab Governor's wife, Jean Rodrigues. Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator S.F. Rodrigues called for empowerment of under-privileged children by imparting them education, vocational training and creating other development programmes. Talking to media persons, Dell International Services managing director Romi Malhotra said Dell had made Chandigarh "our home for the last two years and we have grown significantly here. The centre has been set up as part of community outreach service".
