Gold, silver ornaments stolen

VISAKHAPATNAM : Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.40,000 were stolen at Parvathi Nagar on Wednesday evening. Padmaja and her family members locked their house and left for shopping around 6.30 p.m. On returning home at around 9 p.m. they were shocked to find the lights were on and the door open. They found the keys of the safe under the mattress and looted the valuables. Fifth Town SI Mallikarjuna Rao is investigating the case.

Two arrested

Two persons were arrested by the Gajuwaka police on Thursday on a charge of beating up two others. The accused G. Srinu and G. Krishna of Mindi had beaten up R. Varalakshmi and her son on January 23. On a complaint filed by the victims, the accused were arrested.
