BSF constable run over by bus

NEW DELHI: A 33-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) constable was run over by a Blueline bus at Sangam Vihar here on Thursday.

According to the police, Subhash Chander, posted at Tikri BSF camp, was knocked down by the bus near the camp early in the morning. The bus driver, Sanjeev Kumar, has been arrested and a case of rash and negligent driving registered against him. The deceased was the native of Alipur in Uttar Pradesh.

Boy allegedly commits suicide

NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old boy undergoing treatment for depression allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Badarpur here on Thursday.

According to the police, Amit Kumar, a school dropout, was found hanging from a ceiling hook in his house in Molar Bandh in the afternoon. He did not leave any suicide note.

Several receipts were received from his room suggesting that he was undergoing treatment for depression for the past few years, the police said.

CBI conducts surprise check

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation along with the Vigilance Wing of the State Transport Department conducted a surprise check at the Burari Transport Department office in North Delhi on Thursday.

It is learnt that the Vigilance Wing had recently received some complaints about irregularities in its Burari office. Acting on the complaints, a joint team of the Vigilance Wing and the CBI carried out a surprise check there on Thursday. However, no arrested have been made so far.

Emergency landing

NEW DELHI: A Mumbai-bound Indian flight returned to Delhi airport here for a precautionary landing on Thursday after the pilot suspected a fuel leak. The flight carrying 145 passengers had taken off at 6-55 a.m., but returned at 7-47 a.m.
