dated February 10, 1957: Notation for Indian music

The music producers of All India Radio, belonging to different schools of music, have agreed to adopt a uniform system of notation for Indian music for the purpose of AIR. The producers are meeting at the Broadcasting House in New Delhi in connection with the music seminar, organised by AIR. This uniform system of notation, according to a Government press release, was acceptable to both South and North Indian producers and also to the producers belonging to different gharanas in North India.
