Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. on Friday laid the foundation for its new manufacturing facilities for colour televisions and colour monitors, coming up at Sriperumbudur near here. H. B. Lee, Regional President and CEO, Samsung (South West Asia headquarters), laid the foundation.

The Sriperumbudur manufacturing complex is the company's second production facility in the country.

The company plans to set up facilities for refrigerators, air-conditioners, washing machines, printers and other technology products in this complex apart from colour televisions and colour monitors.

The colour television and colour monitor facilities are expected to go on stream in August this year.

The company also proposes to manufacture LCD TVs and LCD monitors at this facility, says a release from the company.
