Dehra Dun: Uttarakhand's first Chief Minister Nityanand Swami is gearing up to avenge the narrow defeat he suffered at the hands of Congress in prestigious Luxman Chowk Assembly seat here in the last polls. "I want to retire from politics as a winner and not as a looser," said the octogenarian BJP leader, who was defeated by Congress' Dinesh Agarwal in the Assembly polls in 2002. Congress has fielded Mr. Agarwal from the seat this time as well. In the 2002 assembly elections, Mr. Swami was defeated by a narrow margin of 803 votes.
