CIL holds LRDE

Bangalore: It was a barren evening at the Football Stadium here on Friday. The day's dull proceedings commenced with a goalless draw between Nationals and BEML (EM) in the `A' Division league.

Later, another goalless draw ensued in the Super Division league in a match between Controllerate of Inspection Electronics (CIL) and Electronics Radar Development Establishment (LRDE).

The match was a tepid affair with LRDE messing up its few chances and CIL playing second fiddle all through the match.

In the early minutes, LRDE's duo of Mahendran and Praveen failed to strike despite having a clear shot at the goal.

LRDE's Saravana Lokesh once found the crossbar and fired wide later as the match ambled on. CIL's best chance also passed away in the first half as an alert Edwin George deflected Ravindran's right footer into an empty goal. — Principal Correspondent
