Vikram triumphs

MANGALORE: Vikram Saralaya of Canara Engineering College won the National inter-cities chess championship conducted by South Kanara District Chess Association here during the week. Viani D'Cunha of St. Aloysius Higher Primary School finished second.

Lenita Mathias of St. Agnes English Medium School, Gahan M.G. of Canara Boy's High School and Ankit Gupta of NITK came third, fourth and fifth respectively.

The top-five will represent Dakshina Kannada district in the five-day National Cities Chess Championship to be held at Chennai from Sunday. — Staff Reporter
