Vijayashanti shifts base to Jubilee Hills

HYDERABAD: Film actress Vijayashanti will undertake a 30 km tour of the banks of Musi from Uppal to Edulabad here on Saturday for a firsthand understanding of the problems of residents.

Speaking to reporters after moving into a house at Jubilee Hills here on Friday, she said she would launch the Talli Telangana Party shortly. She said she rented the house in view of criticism from some quarters that she was waging a struggle for separate Telangana without being a resident of the region.

Ms. Vijayashanti, who used to reside in Chennai and operate from a star hotel whenever she was in city, also launched a membership drive of her party.

She herself got enrolled as the first member. The membership fee was fixed at Re. 1.
