DDA clerk gets 5 years' RI in cheating case
NEW DELHI:
A Delhi court on Friday sentenced a DDA clerk to five years' rigorous imprisonment for selling a flat after taking its possession on making payments through forged bank challans while his accomplice, a property dealer, got three years' jail for the complicity in the offence.
``The prosecution has been able to prove that accused Pramod Kumar Gupta and Manohar Lal entered into a criminal conspiracy to cheat elhi Development Authority (DDA) to obtain possession letter of the said flat by forging bank challans showing false payments,'' said Special Judge Vinod Goel.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 57,000 on Guptaan Upper Divisional Clerk (UDC) employed with the Housing section of the DDA, and Rs 40,000 on Lal, a private property dealer based at Prashant Vihar here. - PTI
