Shirdi Sai devotees' meet

Correspondent

CUTTACK: More than 10,000 Shirdi Sai devotees from all over India are scheduled to attend the All-India Sai Devotees' conference at Sri Dattatreya Sai Ashram near Kapilas temple in Dhenkanal district next week.

The four-day conference is being organised on the occasion of the foundation day of the ashram on February 19.

Arrangements made

Delegates from Bangalore, Chennai, Kanpur, Ambala, Chandigarh, Shirdi, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Mumbai and other places have confirmed their participation, says reception committee chairman Annada Prasad Ray.

"Adequate arrangements have been made for the accommodation of the devotees at the ashram and nearby places," Mr. Ray informed newsmen here on Saturday.

Santh Ganeshnathji Maharaj, a well-known devote and founder of the ashram, would personally supervise the rituals and other activities of the conference.

The conference would hold seminars on religious harmony, world peace, socialism and Sai philosophy, says ashram trust chairman Dwarika Mohan Mishra.

Major destination

The ashram, inaugurated in 2002 at the foothills of Kapilas, is a major destination of Sai devotees.

The place has a mention in ancient Indian mythological scripts. The ashram has a majestic temple, a massive prayer hall, several mandaps and sprawling garden, which also attract tourists from all corners of the country.
