Inter student `murdered' by classmate

KURNOOL: An intermediate student, V. Maheshlal, was allegedly killed by his classmate in the hostel of a city college on Friday night.

According to reports, Madhu, another student of the college, smashed the head of his friend, who was sleeping along with 20 others in the hostel, with a stone. He died on the spot.

Madhu was evicted from the hostel of KNR College due to indiscipline some time ago. Yesterday, the authorities refused to issue hall ticket to him on disciplinary grounds. Madhu nursed a grudge against Mahesh, as he had reported his misbehaviour to the authorities a few months ago. Madhu allegedly consumed liquor and smashed the head of Mahesh around 4 a.m. when all students were in deep sleep. The police have launched a search for him.
