Madurai: Medium pacer Gangaram Singh's six for 31 helped Arasaradi CC chalk out a six-wicket victory over Majestic CC in the Madurai District Cricket Association first division `A' zone league here on Saturday.

The scores: First division zone `A': Majestic CC 94 in 28 overs (Gangaram Singh six for 31, Prabakar four for 20) lost to Arasaradi CC 95 for four in 18 overs.

Kapil Devils CC 169 in 39.3 overs (Murali Manohar 48, Santhosh Gopi five for 23) lost to Freak Amigos CC 133 for two in 18.3 overs) — target revised due to rain.

Zone `B': Eleven Stars CC 243 in 46.3 overs (Venkatesh 86, Ramar 59, Kumar four for 44) bt Eleven Bullets CC 202 in 39.3 overs (Ramesh 79, Prabakar 41, Dass Winsley five for 39).

Manasa upsets Ashwini

S. Manasa of Sun Chess Academy (Chennai) upset top-seeded U. Ashwini of Chennai in the girls' section of the Dolphin Trophy State under-9 chess championship at Nagercoil on Saturday.

Easy for APAPC

Arulmigu Palani Andavar Polytechnic College (Palani) carved out a six-wicket victory over Parvathy College of Arts and Science in the Dindigul District colleges cricket league for the RVS Trophy at the PSNA ground, Dindigul, on Saturday.

The scores: Parvathy College of Arts and Science 70 for nine in 20 overs (P. Kalaiselvam four for five) lost to APAPC, Palani 71 for four in 10 overs.

Aditanar College-St. Xavier's final

Defending champion Aditanar College (Tiruchendur) and St. Xavier's College will clash for the title in the State-level Platinum inter-collegiate volleyball tournament at the College hostel ground, Palayamkottai, on Sunday.
