Janashakti behind foresters' killing

BHUBANESWAR: Claiming responsibility for the recent killing of three Forest Department employees in Dhenkanal district, the Communist Party of India (ML)-Janashakti on Saturday said they resorted to the act the three employees were hand-in-glove with the timber mafia and registered false cases against tribals.

In a statement, secretary of the party's Central Orissa Zonal Committee Ananda Chandra said the three employees who were killed on the night of January 31 were acting as police informers and joined the police in the combing operation. They were identified as Forester Ghanshyam Behera and Forest Guards Nilamani Mullick and Kumuda Chandra Samal.
