NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday launched another round of the Pulse Polio campaign in the Capital by administering anti-polio drops to children at a function at the Secretariat. The Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme is to be held here on Sunday. Ms. Dikshit expressed confidence that Delhi would continue to be a polio-free State. The only threat to Delhi was from some neighbouring States from where a large number of people migrate to the Capital every year, she said. The floating population coming to Delhi every day in connection with employment could also be responsible for cases of polio, she added. Speaking at another function, the CM announced that all colony hospitals would be fully developed to decongest major hospitals. This would also go a long way in providing quality health services at the doorsteps, she added. Inaugurating an OPD block at Malviya Nagar Colony Hospital, she said the Delhi State Health Mission launched by her Govt. was aimed at bridging gaps in the health care delivery system.
