BHOPAL: Confronted with a series of violent incidents in different parts of the State, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has asked the district administration and police officers to remain vigilant and issued instructions that firm action should be taken against anti-social elements.
High-level meeting
The Chief Minister issued the instructions while reviewing the law and order situation at a high-level meeting held at Mantralaya here over the weekend. Addressing the officers, including State Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni and Director-General of Police A.R. Pawar, he said minor incidents take an ugly turn due to lack of proper and timely action. Mr. Chauhan said the administration should continuously remain in touch with every section of society and all precautionary measures should be taken to maintain law and order.
`Minorities must feel safe'
He said the minorities should feel safe and secure in the State and every step should be taken to ensure that no section of the society felt left out or neglected. The Chief Minister told the law enforcement authorities to guard against the activities of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and said all necessary steps should be taken to prevent illegal transportation of bovine animals and their killings.
