Software engineer robbed

BANGALORE: A three-member gang reportedly assaulted a software engineer and robbed him of Rs. 600, a mobile phone and a credit card in Ramamurthynagar police station limits Friday night.

Police said that around 10.30 p.m. the gang waylaid Nilanjan Paul at OMBR Layout while he was walking home. They took him to an isolated area, hit him on the head and face and relieved him of the cash and other articles. Paul, who suffered minor injuries, was treated at a private hospital.

Chain snatched

A man who came on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 25,000 from a woman in Jnanabharathi police station limits on Saturday. The police said the incident occurred around 8.30 a.m. at Papireddypalya on the Ring Road off Nagarabavi when Sharadammwas returning home after a walk.

Recovered

The Siddapura police on Thursday arrested Prashant alias Akash (22), a resident of NIMHANS quarters in Byrasandra, on charges of theft and recovered from him ornaments worth Rs. 1.75 lakh.
