Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu. Dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in Centimetres are: Tondi and Ramanathapuram 2 each and Mayiladuthurai (Nagapattinam dt.) 1. The minimum temperatures fell appreciably at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell at one or two places over rest north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu rose at one or two places over rest south interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over interior Karnataka, below normal at one or two places over coastal and rest north interior Karnataka, appreciably above normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema, above normal at one or two places over Telangana, rest south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Belgaum airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 12 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Isolated rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
