Four of family killed in accident

BHUBANESWAR: Five persons were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Jamankira village on National highway No. 6 between Deogarh and Sambalpur in the early hours of Sunday.

The victims include four members of a family from the Bhanjanagar area of Ganjam district, according to the police. The accident took place when the vehicle in which the family was travelling collided with a truck and then hit a roadside tree.

The family was on its way from Barbil in Keonjhar district to Hirakud near Sambalpur town. The victims have been identified as Nabin Panigrahi, his wife Mamina and their son Sukun and daughter Smita and jeep driver Jagannath Dakua.
