Rain, cold wave claim 14 lives in north India
NEW DELHI
: Fourteen persons have died in several parts of northern India as torrential rain over the past few days have thrown normal life out of gear in the region.
On Sunday, people preferred to remain indoors.
According to Meteorological department officials, cold conditions have revived due to a strong western disturbance currently lying over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas.
In the State of Uttar Pradesh, eight persons were killed and over a dozen injured in different incidents of house collapse and lightning. PTI
