BANGALORE:
A section officer in the Land Grant section of the Revenue Secretariat was caught by the Lokayukta while he was allegedly accepting Rs. 10,000 as bribe for granting sanction for regularising and granting land.
Thimmaraya Ramanna submitted an application to the Deputy Commissioner of Kolar for regularising and granting of 35 guntas of land in Aima Reddy village. The Deputy Commissioner forwarded it to the Revenue Secretary. Section Officer Y.N. Rudraiah allegedly demanded Rs. 50,000 for granting the sanction, and later settled for Rs. 10,000. Mr. Ramanna filed had a complaint with the Lokayukta Police.
District Manager of D. Devaraja Urs Backward Classes and Minorities Development Board, Chitradurga, was caught while allegedly taking Rs. 1,000 for sanctioning loan. The manager, Boraiah, had allegedly taken Rs. 500 from Kousar Mohammed Ismail for recommending his loan application. Mr. Kousar filed a complaint with the Lokayukta Police.
